I don't understand why we shouldn't play the line with h4, h6, Nf3, Nd7. What's the difference between the pawn on e6 and the Knight on d7 lines?. at 4:39

I saw a game played by Alireza as Black where he played ...a5 then ...b5 breaking every positional rule by leaving a backward pawn on an open c-file. Completely different approach to the position. Idea is that he wanted ...Nb6-c4.

In the past few years, I followed the Beginner path and I am now tackling the Improver one. Chessfactor is a fantastic resource for anyone who wants to learn in a more structured but flexible way! At the end of the summary, you say that one should calculate everything carefully. I can never see myself calculating all the possible lines in the second example, and it feels that such calculations would be hard for anyone under say 1800 FIDE (complete guesstimate). Do you have any advice/video for improving calculations at a low level?

Great class, thanks, very clear. Please note that the letter i after g in Italian is not pronounced but is used to make the g soft and be read like g in gesture because without it the g would be hard and read as g in goal. It should be juoko not j-ee-uoko. See the prononciation on google translate for an example. ETA: This is the most clear, organised lesson on the italian I have seen on yt.
